I woke up slowly. It was still black beyond the windowpanes, and the automatic candles in my window were shining happily (I'm fairly certain they can feel joy for lowering the quality of my sleep. We all know that you're supposed to sleep in complete darkness.). I shifted around a bit and realized that I still had socks on. Ew! I hate sleeping with socks on! I kicked them off as I turned to my side...and glanced at my clock.
It was 6:55.
I had been napping since 3:30.
This is for you, Lisa.
This is lovely. I, too, took a nap today and immediately thought of our beloved Lisa.
ReplyDeleteOh Avery! I am so proud of you. I approve. However, I have a couple notes:
ReplyDelete1. Please don't dis candles. Napping in candlelight (automatic or not!) is completely acceptable, and it is even desired by some people. Sleeping in complete darkness is nice; however, napping in dim lighting is wonderful as well.
2. Sleeping in socks is acceptable as well. Personally, I nap in socks from time to time. Who likes cold feet?
Overall you need to be more open-minded when it comes to napping. However, I am proud of you and all that you have accomplished already!
Also, I took a nap around the same time!! Except I woke up around 5:30 for dinner. sooo...you win!! Brava.
On the same note, I had a long conversation about naps with my cousin today. He is a sophomore in college, and he shares the same gift I have! A huge security guard woke him up when he was asleep in a lobby because someone reported an unconscious man lying on one of the couches. brilliant. It must be a family thing. Again, so proud.
Love you dearly! And I hope the rest of you are napping as well!
Aw Amy!! I am proud of you as well!! YAY NAPS
ReplyDeleteSleep....is amazing.
